My name is {h4x} Law. I've been a member with h4x for around a year now. I play mostly on FFA, cod4. Over the past year I've run into a few issues on the server, the greatest of which is the spawn kill plague that haunts the server regardless of whether or not an admin is present. Warnings are issued, kicks and bans follow suite. However this is not a permanent solution. Regardless of how many admins are present or how hard they work, there is only so much that can be done. It's fair to say that if the admins ban everyone then the server will only have 5-6 players in it. This got me to thinking. Banning is no longer the solution. The very opportunity to spawn kill must be eliminated.
Secondly, the issue of "fullbright" was recently brought to my attention. From my experience with it, I can say that in the hands of an experienced player, fullbright is almost as bad as having a wallhack. Especially in the darker maps. Currently there is no way to detect this becuase it doesn't show up via spectating.
I played on another server recently, server running cod4 1.7 with a mod on it. The mod somehow allowed me to see players using fullbright. There were a lot including players from h4x's servers on there using fullbright. Added to this, there was a form of spawn protection. It makes a player invulnerable to damage for 4 seconds after spawning, while at the same time the player cannot use their weapons (guns/grenades/knives) for these 4 seconds. It appears quite balanced. I believe that this mod might be the solution for FFA'S spawn camp/kill and fullbright issues.
